Ella and Simon had a relaxed and beautiful wedding at Hackney Town Hall. We started the morning with the bridal preparations at the Redchurch Townhouse hotel in Shoreditch. As a Hackney wedding photographer, I am based locally to the Town Hall. For anyone who is planning their wedding in Hackney I would highly recommend the Redchurch Townhouse hotel as a place to stay. The rooms are absolutely beautiful, very spacious and ample light for photos. Beside, who would not like a huge bath in the middle of the room. I even won an award from the Masters of Wedding photography for my creative photo of Ella posing in the bath. The hotel is also around 10 minutes drive from Hackney Town Hall.
After the bridal preparations, we took a black to Hackney Town Hall. There all the guests were waiting to head in to the ceremony room. The ceremony was beautiful and emotional. When the ceremony ended, we coordinated the group photos before taking a very short walk to London Fields for the couple portraits.
We then headed to Ombra, a cosy little bar very close to the Town Hall, for pre- wedding drinks. Our final destination was Bistrotheque where the reception took place. Bistrotheque is the perfect wedding venue in Hackney for intimate weddings. I specially love how the tables were set up for the reception, just one long table with around 40 seats. They also had a pianist playing music before diner. The reception was situated remotely from their mainstream restaurant, so the guest were not disturbed by outside crowd.

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London is one of my favourite locations for an engagement photoshoot. There is ample space no matter the time of the day or however busy it may be. There are more props than any photographer will ever need, may it be bridges, trees, canals, buildings, you name it. Wherever you turn, there is the potential to frame a great image. But the best one of all is the light. Morning, afternoon or evening, the light is just beautiful. When the light is harsh, there are plenty of shady spots for softer light and when the sun is setting, the golden light is just amazing.
I did my very first engagement photoshoot at the London Olympic Park back in 2017 with Sheniz and Adem and ended up winning two wedding photography awards from Wedisson and Wedaward. Sheniz and Adem were both amazing and helped create the most romantic photos. On the day, we met at Hackney Wick station and walked to the Copper Box arena where we stopped for photos the giant mirrored ‘RUN’ letters. We then walked through the park to the Aquatic Centre stopping at various spots along the way. Enjoy the photos!
Polly and Tom had a relaxed wedding ceremony at Islington town hall. Their wedding day was full of laughter and fun moments. The flower girl was absolutely fantastic and created loads of funny moments and even managed to get everybody’s attention during the ceremony (you will see what I mean in the photos!!). It was an absolute pleasure to be their Islington wedding photographer.
The day started at The Myddleton Arms pub in Islington where the pre-wedding drinks were arranged. The initial plan was for all to meet at The Vineyard which is across the street from Islington Town Hall, but it was being refurbished. The Middleton Arms is a cosy little pub situated around 3 minutes walk from Islington Town Hall making it a great meeting point for pre-wedding drinks.
Islington Town Hall is one of my favourites town hall for weddings. The Council Chamber provide plenty of room for large wedding in a rustic settings with ample light for the most romantic photos. The town hall also home smaller rooms for small weddings. The steps outside the Town Hall are great for group shots and family photos and allows for the most incredible confetti shots.
For Polly and Tom’s wedding, we walked the short distance from The Myddleton Arms. I love taking photos whilst travelling between venues as these make beautiful candid images. Although it was raining, it did not stop the groom and his guests taking a slow stroll to the town hall. Be sure to check out the photos of the flower girl during the ceremony!!
The Angelic is a beautiful pub suited for small to medium wedding reception. It is situated around 4 minutes walk from Angel station and around 10 minutes walk from Islington Town Hall. It was beautifully decorated allowing enough space for a buffet style dinner and a dance floor with its private bar.

An online gallery is the modern way of showcasing and delivering images to your clients. Sending edited photos via DVD is now outdated with most laptops and computers not having a DVD reader anymore. Even household DVD players have started to disappear as streaming capabilities become more common. Using a USB stick as a method of delivering your wedding photos to clients is still very well used by wedding photographers. However, with more contents being viewed on mobile devices such as phones and tablets, the USB stick is used rather as a storage device than an ‘on the go’ means to access and view the photos.
Believe me when I say that nowadays, one cannot run a successful wedding photography business without an effective online wedding gallery. And I emphasise on the word ‘effective’. As a wedding photographer, I have signed up and used a few online gallery providers over the years, some better than others. I have used the likes of Pixieset, Shootproof, Photoshelter and various gallery plugins for WordPress.
But my favourite of all and the online gallery I still use to deliver wedding images to clients is Passgallery. Before we look into the reason why I use Passgallery, here is what makes a great gallery in my opinion.
• Ability to showcase images and ‘WOW’ clients, not just view images as thumbnails
• Ability to customise how the client view the images such as grid size, etc.
• Mobile friendly
• Integrated social media sharing
• Integrated shop to order prints and albums
• Ability to download all or selected images
• Download full size or lower resolution images fast
• Customised mobile app
• Customised branding
• Online store with self- fulfilment option
• Email sharing options
• Ability to favourite and tag images
These are some of the features many of the online galleries have in common. However Passgallery has so much more to offer. First of all, Passgallery has a free plan that offers the ability to upload 6000 images which is more than any other providers offer and you can have your own branding, unlimited galleries, online store and portfolio site. The only catch is there is a 15% commission if you sell through the online store.
Passgallery also have an integration to Lightroom and the client’s gallery is automatically updated if any adjustments are made into Lightroom. The reporting system from Passgallery gives an in-depth report into the galleries including image views and shares. Best of all, Passgallery comes with its own album proofing system, so clients can proof albums from their galleries before placing an order.
If you are looking for a seamless and easy to use online wedding gallery that will showcase your wedding photos in an amazing way, I would definitely recommend Passgallery. It is free to try!!!
Without doubt, the most important piece of equipment not to overlook wether you are a beginner, amateur or a professional wedding photographer is your camera bag. Choosing a camera bag to suit your needs and your workflow can be quite difficult considering the large selection available on the market. Of course, you do not have to own just the one camera bag but rather buy 2 or 3 different bags to use in a variety of situations. I own 3 camera bags, each of them of different sizes and models. 2 of them are messenger camera bags and 1 is a backpack. All 3 of my camera bags including the lowepro nova sport 35L share a few important common factors.
When it comes to durability, I haven’t yet come across a camera bag for wedding photographers that is as durable and strong as the lowepro nova sport 35L. That bag feels like a tank. There is no danger of the handles or zips breaking off or seams coming undone. The bag is also easy to wash (without the padding). I have owned my nova sport 35L for 3 years and have used it for over 150 weddings and there are still no signs of fatigue.
A wedding photographer’s camera bag has to be weather proof. More than often, we find ourselves shooting in the rain, snow or scorching sun. Although your photography equipments might be weather sealed, a damp camera bag may cause mould to grow inside your lenses or camera, a lesson that I learnt the hard way. The nova sport 35L comes with both external and internal weather proofing. That’s 2 layers of weather proofing!!!
A backpack or a messenger bag, they both have their pros and cons. The lowepro nova sport 35L is a messenger bag that is very easy to carry around. It has 2 handles, one to hold the bag in your hand and the other one on your shoulder.
Being a messenger bag, the lowepro nova sport 35L is very easy to use. All your equipments are easily accessible without having to unzip. Just flip the cover open (whilst still your shoulder) and all your cameras and lenses are at hand.
The internal padding of the lowepro nova sport 35L can be arranged into compartments of different sizes to fit your gears providing great protections from outside elements and scratches that may occur within the bag. The padding is also thick enough to provide protection if you unfortunately drop your bag.
These are the gears that fits in my lowepro nova sport 35L:
1x Nikon D750
Nikon 50mm f1.4
Sigma Art 35mm f1.4
Nikon 70-200mm f2.8
Macro Nikon 105mm f2.8
Nikon 24-70mm f2.8
2x Cactus speedlights
2x tripod plates
28x AA batteries
4x EN-EL15 batteries
10 stops ND filter
8x SD and CF cards

It is not often that we have the opportunity to plan a pre-wedding photoshoot at the beach in the UK, so when Jeremy emailed me asking if we can do so, it was a no-brainer. A couple’s photoshoot at the beach in the midst of summer during a heatwave can be very challenging, but we were up for the challenge. We decided on this occasion that we would catch the golden hour for the best possible light and effects. Shooting at the beach in broad daylight is not a good idea due to the harsh light casting unpleasant shadows on the face and also because of the tendency to squint.
We started the photoshoot around 7:30pm, which left us with just about an hour before sunset. Light was golden and soft though harsher than expected. The beach was empty allowing us plenty of room and shoot without interruptions. The beach huts served as great props and the low tide added more depth to the images. Here are just a few of the images of the day.
Faye and Adrian had a beautiful wedding at St Julians Club in Sevenoaks. I first met Faye in the morning of her wedding day as she had booked me as her wedding photographer as she booked me only weeks before. Faye has an overwhelming smile and bubbly personality which made my job really easy on the day. Both Faye and Adrian radiate love and happiness. Everything about their personalities were in sync, their little soft touch, their winks and kisses. Their St Julians club wedding was amazing!!!
Faye and Adi (Adrian’s nickname) it was an absolute pleasure to have been your wedding photographer. I had such a great time photographing both of you and your family. Enjoy your St Julians Club wedding highlights!

Style Galore!! That is one way to describe this wedding. When it came to style at Monique and Theo’s wedding, it was go big or go home. Belair House itself is an amazing wedding venue. The many windows in the ceremony room allow in ample light giving the wedding a bright and airy ambiance which perfectly suited our beautiful couple.
Theo and his cool dudes (groomsmen) were like characters straight out of a Hollywood movie with their tailored fit velvet jacket. The colour coordination between the groom and his groomsmen were perfect. Monique on the other hand, only needed her smile to charm her future husband and the guests. The mother of the bride, who originally booked me as their wedding photographer, and the bridesmaid looked absolutely amazing. The ceremony itself was the traditional signing of the register with both the guest speakers delivering super emotional speeches.
At the end of the ceremony, Monique and Theo added a traditional African wedding twist. They danced to an African tune down the aisle and jumped over a bunch of flowers laid on the floor followed by the bridesmaid and groomsmen. Monique also personally handmade a bunch of traditional African mask for the bridal party.
As both the bride and groom were from African descent, it was primordial to add an aspect of their culture into the wedding. The while day felt like a Hollywood wedding with an African twist where friends and family truly came together for the bride and the groom.
Here are a few images from Monique and Theo’s wedding. Enjoy the Belair House Wedding photos.

Home House is a unique wedding venue overlooking Portman Square in Marylebone. Clare approached me earlier this year to photograph her casual and small wedding ceremony at Home House. It was the first time I had heard of Home House and naturally, I researched the venue beforehand. Needless to say that it is not your typical wedding venue in many aspect of a wedding day. Home House is a members only club, so access to and within the venue is limited to those who are permitted only. Photography is also limited to certain parts of the building and a letter of permission had to be sought out by the bride and groom prior to the wedding day.
Despite these limitations, the features within the venue are spectacular. The central staircase provides all the props that a creative wedding photographer could dream of. The staffs were amazing and very helpful providing a very exclusive and personal service to guests.
Clare and Paul’s wedding ceremony was very intimate attended by the only closest members of their family and friends. Documenting their wedding in photos felt really personal and being amongst the kindest hearts was all I could ask for. Enjoy the photos!!!
